  • Have you ever thought that life would be better if only you could lose some weight?
  • Have you ever been on a diet and found it really difficult to stick to?
  • Did you notice your mood changed and you felt low, more anxious or irritable?
  • Have you ever put on even more weight after following a diet?

There are good scientific reasons why our bodies don't like dieting and resist losing weight - it isn't healthy.

Lucy Aphramor is a health at every size dietitian with an NHS cardiac rehab team and a researcher at Coventry University. She will be explaining the scientific reasons why dieting isn't good for us and looking at the way science is misrepresented to promote weight loss. Lucy will also introduce a safe alternative approach which makes us feel better and really will improve our health in the long term.

These are free talks by dietitian Lucy Aphramor in Coventry and Leamington Spa, in association with Cafe Scientifique.
